I am here in Kuwait now, but let me tell u about the journey here.
i woke up bright and early on a friday 0600. All my bags are packed I am ready to go, well atleast get out of McGregor. We get all out bags and carry ons outside. We lined them up in some kind of order. After we did this i made some of my last phone calls. First I decided to call my uncle and it was really nice to talk to him. He is always there with a postive attitude and to lighten the mood. I love u Uncle DAnny. After that i called my Aunt Cindy. I really enjoyed talking to her also. She is very encouraging. Then after that i call my cousin adam and talked to him. He was very excited to hear from me and i felt the same to hear from him. The i talked to all three of my little cousins. They had just woke up and young so i dont think they quite understand what i was doing or where i was going. But it mad my day to talk to all of them. I love them and miss them all dearly. Shortly after i got off the phone we had to all go inside and wait for the dogs to sniff our bags to make sure we didnt have explosives or drugs. After they got done we loaded the bags into the back of 3 big trucks and hopped on the bus to head to thw airport at Fort Bliss. Once we got there we ate chow then loaded the plane. Lucky me after everyone got on the plane i had a empty seat beside me....YAY. The first stop we had was in Maine. We got out to stretch our legs. When we got off the plane we where warmly greated my the patriot guard from there. It was very nice of them to do that. As we stretch our legs I made my final call to my dad. It was hard cause i miss him dearly and wish he could be there to see me off but he was there in spirt. So after i talked to him i cut my phone off. So no more phone for me, and let me tell you that is something that is hard to get use to. About a hour after we got off we had to load again. The next desitnation is Germany. This flight was about a 6 hour flight. I slept the whole way there. When we landed they told us that one of our generators had went bad and we would have to switch flight. So the consisted of us moving about 600 plus dufflels and about 300 ruck sacks and some crates to another plane. This process took about 3 hours. Once we got all that loaded on the other plane we laoded and took off to our final place Kuwait. This flight was about a 7 hour flight. I also slept the whole way. Once we landed (at 130am) we loaded the bags in the back of 3 more big trucks and headed to the holding area. After that we headed to the living areas. Well once we got there my section had to collect all weapons for turn in. Then we had to take them to the arms room and put in serail number order. This was a very long process. After most of this was done (about 0930) we headed back to the barricks for our day off to get acclumated. This is the first time i saw my room which i post pics once i get some. But our rooms are a open bay with wall lockers seperating them into rooms. I have the smallest room in there. But i am glad of who i got to room with :). I got there unloaded my stuff. This felt nice cause i knew i would not have to pack it up any time soon. I am here to stay for atleast 10 months. So after we got our room situated it was time for bed. So i laid down and went to sleep. The next morning (today) i got up at 0430 to eat breakfast and go to briefing till lunch time. After lunch we went to tour the area we are going to be working in. And now we have the rest of the off and so now its time to work out. so i will keep yall informed and updated.
thanks

More in New Mexico
Woke up the next morning from a very emotional day. While at Bliss we went through SRP (Soldier Readiness Processing). This consisted of making sure all our finical papers are good. Also that we are healthy enough to deploy. We also had to get some shots. Which are
small pox (which doesn't hurt but is a pain to keep clean)
anthrax (which hurt for a couple days after)
typhoid (which didn't hurt at all)
Not only was there shots we had to do blood work and females had to do a pregnancy test. Most of us got all green and get to go. However there are a few people that cant join us. : (
After 4 days at Bliss we moved to the Alamo (sounds cool i know). its actually in New Mexico. All the females stayed in a open bay. They are nice and we have showers that have curtains which are nice. We have a nice little hike to the chow hall everyday. Its about a mile one way (Good PT). Its about the same ole routine every day for me here i wake up and just get on the computer and take some online classes. Then workout and head to Lunch. Then come back for some more classes then dine, then workout again. I am getting in good shape while i am here which is really good motivation for my PT test i take in 5 days. Being here in between Texas and New Mexico is making Kuwait look better and better, i am looking forward to being over there and be settled.
